    Katherin Joyette

Growing up, I was deeply influenced by my uncle, the late Canadian contemporary painter and writer Anthony Joyette. His passion for cultural art ignited a fire within me—a desire to preserve and promote the artistic legacy of our family and our rich Carib, Ethiopian heritage. Inspired by his vibrant paintings and profound storytelling, I embarked on a journey to honor our roots and celebrate the beauty of cultural diversity. For me, Livity and social justice aren't just concepts—it's a guiding principle that shapes every aspect of our lives. It's about honoring the interconnectedness of all things, embracing diversity, and fostering a deep sense of reverence for the Earth and its inhabitants, while raising awareness to indigenous genocide worldwide.
